Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 26, 2026

Introduction

Prismi (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Prismi browser extension (“the Extension”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled when you use the Extension.

We Do Not Collect Personal Data

Prismi does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our own servers. We do not have a backend, we do not require accounts, and we do not run analytics, advertisements, or tracking of any kind. Everything you create in Prismi stays on your device.

User-Created Data

When you use Prismi, you may create boards, save links, write notes, and organize tabs. All of this data is stored exclusively in your browser’s local storage (browser.storage.local). We never read, access, or transmit this data. You can export or delete your data at any time through the Extension’s settings.

Browser Permissions

The Extension requests the following permissions to function:

  • tabs— Required to save your current tab and display it in your boards.
  • storage— Required to save your boards, links, notes, and preferences to your browser’s local storage.
  • activeTab— Required so the popup can read the title and URL of the tab you are currently viewing when you choose to save it.

None of these permissions are used to collect data about you. They are strictly necessary for the Extension’s core functionality.

Third-Party Services

Prismi makes requests to the following third-party APIs to provide optional features. None of your Prismi data is sent to these services.

ServicePurposeData Sent
Google FaviconsFetch website iconsDomain of the saved link
Open-MeteoWeather forecastCoordinates or city name
Open-Meteo GeocodingCity name to coordinatesCity name
BigDataCloudCoordinates to city nameCoordinates

Location Data

The weather widget can optionally use your geographic location to show a local forecast. Location access is never requested automatically; your browser will ask for your permission. If you decline, the widget simply falls back to a manually entered city name. Coordinates are only sent to the Open-Meteo or BigDataCloud APIs for the sole purpose of retrieving weather data and are never stored or shared elsewhere.

Sharing With Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties. Since we do not collect data in the first place, there is nothing to share.

Your Rights

Because all your data resides on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You can view, edit, export, or delete your data directly from the Extension. You do not need to contact us to exercise any data rights.

Data Retention

Your data remains on your device for as long as you use the Extension. It is automatically removed if you uninstall the Extension from your browser. Since no data is stored on our servers, there is no server-side retention.

Children

Prismi is not directed at children under the age of 13. Since the Extension does not collect any personal data, it is compliant with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
